Lean In Singapore: Women In The Work Place

Strategies for Beating Gender Bias in the Work Place

More than 75 percent of CEOs include gender equality in their top ten business priorities, but gender outcomes across the largest companies are not changing. Women are less likely to receive the first critical promotion to manager—so far fewer end up on the path to leadership—and they are less likely to be hired into more senior positions. As a result, the higher you look in companies, the fewer women you see. The McKinsey Women in the Workplace 2016 uncovered some interesting insights into what is helping and hindering women.

We will be joined by Vidhya Ganesan, Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company Singapore, who will share the main findings from the study. We will then work in small circles to create proactive, action-orientated strategies women can use day to day to further their careers and over come gender bias.

Let’s #LeanInTogether.

Women accomplish amazing things when we support each other. When a woman helps another woman, they both benefit. And when women celebrate one another’s accomplishments, we’re all lifted up. Together women can do more, go further, and change the world.

We want all women to have the confidence and know-how to achieve their goals. In this meet up, we share with you practical tips on building your personal brand, and you'll get to engage industry experts on how you can do so. Find out more about Lean In, what we are doing in the Singapore Chapter and how you can get involved.
